| The music program of BJMBC exists for many reasons, such as equipping musicians to minister in their own churches, instilling a clear understanding of biblical music principles and how to apply them, and strongly encouraging the development of new sacred music by Filipino believers for Filipino churches. This recording is a testimony of each of these goals. All the musicians are students, graduates, or faculty members, who faithfully serve the Lord in their local churches. They have sought to glorify the Lord in the styles of music selected and in the way they are performed. Also, many of the songs were produced, at least in part, by faculty, students, and alumni: TO GOD BE THE GLORY was arranged by a graduate/faculty member; words and music for ALAM NG DIOS were written by alumni and arranged by a graduate and an instructor; words to HUWAG KANG MATAKOT were written by an alumnus with music by an instructor; ANG MAKITID NA DAAN was translated by a graduate/instructor; music for IN HIS LIKENESS was composed by a graduate and arranged by a faculty member; words and music for GOD IS NOT WILLING were composed by faculty members. Ultimately, our prayer is that a healthy, biblical Christianity in the Philippines would only be strengthened by our endeavors. Performance ours, the glory Thine! |
